Become a Music-Mixing Legend With Hasbro's Dropmix Card Game

A new board game from Hasbro chosen Dropmix aims to plow you into the next music mixing sensation.

Developed in collaboration with Stone Band and Trip the light fantastic toe Cardinal creator Harmonix, Dropmix lets players create song mixes by playing cards on a game board continued to a mobile app.

"Dropmix offers an entirely new way to discover, experience and interact with music that's social, fun and competitive," Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak said in a statement. "When players place their first cards on the Dropmix lath this September, when they hear their get-go mind-blowing mix, they're going to exist completely amazed."

The game consists of an electronic Dropmix board, lx NFC-enabled cards, and a gratis app for iOS or Android devices. The Dropmix cards feature hit pop, R&B, dance, indie, country, rock, and hip hop songs that players tin can "combine in unexpected ways." When y'all place a menu on one of the "mix slots," the board starts playing the respective role of the song (bass, beat, loop, or vocals) specified on the card. The board reads up to five cards at a time, and the app "seamlessly combines the music within each menu to create a unique mix," Hasbro said.

The game features songs similar "Take Over Command" by Afrojack, "24K Magic" past Bruno Mars, "Closer" by The Chainsmokers, "Sing" past Ed Sheeran, "Centuries" by Fall Out Boy, "I Want You Back" by The Jackson five, "All Well-nigh That Bass" by Meghan Trainor, and "House Party" by Sam Chase.

Dropmix is slated to launch in September for $99.99. Hasbro plans to sell packs of 16 additional cards for $15, and packs of five for $5.99. The company said at that place volition be 300 total cards available this year, allowing for "millions of possible music-mix combinations."
